Blue Hive Marketing came to USA Outdoor Media for two custom inflatable bi-planes to hang from the ceiling at indoor trade shows. The planes had to fit a specific booth footprint, read clearly from across the show floor, and match a classic red bi-plane look the client had found as a stock graphic online.
The constraint that shaped the project was space. A suspended inflatable in a trade show booth has a hard limit on length, height and wingspan, so the design had to be dimensioned before it was rendered.
We started from the client’s reference graphic and produced a dimensioned elevation drawing: 4,260 mm long (about 14 feet), 2,130 mm tall (about 7 feet) and a 4,200 mm wingspan (about 13 feet 9 inches). Once the client confirmed those numbers against the booth, we built formal 3D mock-ups from four angles and presented them with the quote and invoice.
Production followed the approved renders. Each inflatable bi-plane includes the fuselage, upper and lower wings with struts, a propeller, tail fin, landing gear with wheels, and attachment points so the planes can be hung from the show-hall ceiling.
Two matching inflatable bi-planes, built to the exact dimensions of the client’s booth, that turn an ordinary trade show space into something attendees walk over to look at. Because they were purchased rather than rented, Blue Hive can reuse them at every show on the calendar.

Because the planes had to hang inside a fixed trade show booth, we produced a side and front elevation with exact millimeter dimensions, 4,260 mm long and 2,130 mm tall with a 4,200 mm wingspan, so the client could confirm fit before anything was built.
We rendered the bi-plane in 3D from four angles so the client could review the wing struts, propeller, tail stripes and landing gear exactly as they would be built. Pricing and the invoice were presented with the renders.
Both bi-planes were produced with the red and gray color scheme from the approved renders, complete with propeller, wing struts, wheels and attachment points for ceiling suspension. The client was very happy with the result.
